Meet The Team

Gbemi Adekoya (Coach G)
A Nationally Certified Counselor, Gbemi enjoys helping people who are determined to get unstuck from old patterns, by collaborating with them to untangle life's complications, so they can be the improved version of themselves they so strongly want, and deserve, to be.
Gbemi provides clinical therapy to clients resident in Texas, where she is dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Convinced that everyone deserves help and support no matter where they are located, she also provides coaching, which excludes the clinical diagnosis and treatment of disorders, to meet the needs of clients outside Texas.
Gbemi has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UHV, as well as a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science from UHCL. She is Board Certified in Applied Behavior Analysis and has completed the first level of Gottman Couples Therapy Method. She has extensive experience in the Human Services field, having worked as a Crisis Counselor on the National Suicide Prevention Helpline, Case Manager and Disability Integration Advisor for FEMA, Behavior Therapist specializing in Autism and neurodivergence, providing parent training and behavior modification interventions to families needing support.

Gbemi’s therapeutic approach is client-led, personalized to each individual and trauma informed, acknowledging the impact of life experiences and culture on each individual’s current circumstances, recognizing that some symptoms may represent efforts at coping, leading to asking “what happened to you” rather than the implied judgment of “what’s wrong with you?”. She combines evidence-based treatment methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy as well as current Neuroscience research to provide support and practical tools to empower clients to improve their outcomes.
